Payment and Rewards
Reward Types and Amounts
For each survey successfully completed, Pinecone Research awards its members a minimum of 100 points, which equals $1.00 in your local currency. For example, Americans will earn $1.00 USD per survey, Canadians typically earn $1.00 CAD per survey, while Britons earn £1 per survey completion. There are a variety of rewards options that accumulated points can be exchanged for. These include:
- Bank Transfer - Pinecone offers cash payments issued via bank transfer. When selecting this option, you will be asked to create a 'wallet' on a third-party payment processor website. Once set up, you can request a cash payment deposited directly into your bank account. Payments are issued in $10, $5, and $3 increments (which can be in different quantities; ex. 4 x $3 = $12). Bank transfers are typically issued within 48 hours of request, but can take up to 3-5 business days.
- Amazon e-Cards - You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card with your collected points. The e-card will be sent directly to your email account.
- Other Gift Cards - Pinecone Research offers a variety of gift card options including Starbucks, Apple Store, Walmart gift cards, as well as many others. Gift cards may be digital or in physical format and are listed under these categories.
- Merchandise - Pinecone Research offers an extensive merchandise catalog consisting of various small electronics, household items and more. Merchandise rewards will be mailed directly to your home.
- Prepaid Virtual Visas – prepaid Visa cards are available for redemption, however, they may only available to US residents.
Redeeming Rewards
To redeem your rewards, simply visit the Pinecone Research website and log in to your account. From there, click the "Redeem" button to access the reward site. Under the SHOP tab next to HOME tab, select the reward items you wish to redeem and once you click on an item you are interested in, click the shopping cart icon to add the item to your cart. Click the shopping cart icon on the right side of the page to complete your order.
Note that PayPal is no longer offered as a rewards option and was replaced by bank transfers.
Earn your First Check/Bank Transfer Automatically
Once you complete your first survey, which is always worth a minimum of 100 points, Pinecone Research will automatically send you a check for $1.00 to the mailing address on your profile, or will ask you to cash out via bank transfer. This is a security measure to establish your profile and account. After your first check/bank transfer (or 30 days of being an active Pinecone member, whichever comes first), you will have the option to choose the form in which you would like to receive your future rewards.

Survey Types
Interesting online surveys are e-mailed to members, and are on a variety of different topics. As a Pinecone Research member, you are part of an elite group that represents consumers and households like yours nationwide. Your opinion is important to manufacturers who count on people like you to help predict which products will be developed and which may not be suited for launch. Paid surveys opportunities usually take about 15 to 20 minutes of your time to complete and you will be notified by e-mail when one becomes available.
Product Testing Opportunities
Occasionally, Pinecone may mail out products for their members to test from home. These may be physical products, or food items that may come delivered in a cooler. A follow-up survey is usually provided as part of the product test. These opportunities are highly sought after, as you may receive free food (or a product that you might be able to keep), as well as a paid follow up survey!

I have been with Pinecone for only a few months after been vetted and so far have received about £60 pounds in incentives.
I have now switched over to being paid by Paypal which I receive between 3 or 4 days after completing a survey.
So far can't fault them surveys are interesting and never to long like some others, Toluna take note I don't one 50 tick boxes to pick from.
Anyway would highly recommended Pinecone One To Trust

I really love this panel. I like filling in most surveys BUT they can become a bit tedious after a bit. The good thing about Pinecone is that they send great full sized products to try and then pay £3.00 (UK) within days into Paypal for your opinion on the product. The surveys seem more relevant after using a product. Let's face it, surveys asking us whether we might buy something based on the appearance of a product in a picture is a bit cheap and possibly not the most reliable way to test something. Okay, Pinecone may not send out too many surveys but I am always pleased to see an email from them. And a product to try out is a nice surprise freebie. And not having to wait and build up a set amount before claiming a reward is a definate bonus. If Pinecone can do it then it raises questions why other survey companies will only pay out after building up 'credit'. A highly recommended panel.

I was their member for a little bit over a year. Then they changed their payout/survey from $5 to $3. I din't want to do it, primary because of their attutude. I would understand if they'll wtite us something like: "OK, guys, we really appretiate your help and we would really like to keep paying you $5 per survey, but for the fallowing reasons we can not do it anymore...."
No, they pretend that this is what members wanted. I don't believe anyone in sane mind wants $3 instead of $5.
As many others pointed out, their surveys are getting longer. A year ago it was a great company, now it is nothing special.

I used to be with Pinecone when you got a screener question they always qualified me I knew whenever I got an invitation I already qualifed! The products were great I got a lot of them and they paid 5 bucks back then I only have 2 beefs with them the first being their surveys although they do pay you are way to long! Some lasting 45 minutes or more and so many repeat questions how many ways do they need you to answer the same question ? The 2nd thing is that they used to let you keep the product then they started asking for it back I wrote them an email stating I didn't realize I was supposed to return something that I had used up so I got dropped no problem though since I hear they dropped the incentive to 3 bucks its not worth it and then they have the nerve to have this they only accept panel members by invitation only BS gimme a break!

$3 isn't that bad compared to what other sites give you (like, 10c a survey) and $3 to fill out a survey isn't bad anyways. You're not doing surveys for a living, it's just some extra cash.
Would you prefer that pinecone pulled a boomertowne from over-paying it's users and just STOP giving anything out, regardless of what's owed? I think they lowered it the survey incentive a little so they could stay afloat.
