Pinecone Research is an invitation-only survey panel, where members can earn rewards for participating in online surveys and product tests. Potential new members must be invited by other members to join, or they must find a join link posted on a website. Reward Types and Amounts

For each survey successfully completed, Pinecone Research awards its members a minimum of 100 points, which equals $1.00 in your local currency. For example, Americans will earn $1.00 USD per survey, Canadians typically earn $1.00 CAD per survey, while Britons earn £1 per survey completion. There are a variety of rewards options that accumulated points can be exchanged for. These include:

• Amazon e-Cards - You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card with your collected points. The e-card will be sent directly to your email account.
• Other Gift Cards - Pinecone Research offers a variety of gift card options including Starbucks, Apple Store, Walmart gift cards, as well as many others. Gift cards may be digital or in physical format and are listed under these categories.
• Merchandise - Pinecone Research offers an extensive merchandise catalog consisting of various small electronics, household items and more. Merchandise rewards will be mailed directly to your home.
• Prepaid Virtual Visas – prepaid Visa cards are available for redemption, however, they may only available to US residents.
Points Value: 100 Pinecone Research points = $1.00.

Redeeming Rewards

To redeem your rewards, simply visit the Pinecone Research website and log in to your account. From there, click the "Redeem" button to access the reward site. Under the SHOP tab next to HOME tab, select the reward items you wish to redeem and once you click on an item you are interested in, click the shopping cart icon to add the item to your cart. Click the shopping cart icon on the right side of the page to complete your order.

Note that PayPal is no longer offered as a rewards option and was replaced by bank transfers.

Earn your First Check/Bank Transfer Automatically

Once you complete your first survey, which is always worth a minimum of 100 points, Pinecone Research will automatically send you a check for $1.00 to the mailing address on your profile, or will ask you to cash out via bank transfer. This is a security measure to establish your profile and account. After your first check/bank transfer (or 30 days of being an active Pinecone member, whichever comes first), you will have the option to choose the form in which you would like to receive your future rewards.

Interesting online surveys are e-mailed to members, and are on a variety of different topics. As a Pinecone Research member, you are part of an elite group that represents consumers and households like yours nationwide. Your opinion is important to manufacturers who count on people like you to help predict which products will be developed and which may not be suited for launch. Paid surveys opportunities usually take about 15 to 20 minutes of your time to complete and you will be notified by e-mail when one becomes available.

Product Testing Opportunities

Occasionally, Pinecone may mail out products for their members to test from home. These may be physical products, or food items that may come delivered in a cooler. A follow-up survey is usually provided as part of the product test. These opportunities are highly sought after, as you may receive free food (or a product that you might be able to keep), as well as a paid follow up survey!

If you prefer to take surveys on the go, you can download the Pinecone Research app onto your iOS or Android mobile device. The app will allow you to view available surveys, take online surveys, view and redeem your points, view your account history and more. Just remember to first join the Pinecone Research panel itself before attempting to take surveys through the app!

Operated by Nielsen, a market research leader, Pinecone Research is not a scam and is a completely legitimate website.

They send out checks quickly but it would be nice if they had more surveys. Also, they now have done away with PayPal as a payment option and went to this bank transfer system that appears broken as I never got my 60.00 from them.

I used to take surveys for Pine Cone Research and had fun doing it. At one point in my life I became sick. I advised the staff that I wasn't feeling well and would be unable to take surveys for a little while. After informing them, they blocked my account and I was no longer able to receive surveys. A few years went by and I recently tried to sign up with them and was told they couldn't allow me to take surveys anymore. Why, just because I was sick? The staff there is very rude and uncaring. I wrote to them letting them know I was not pleased in the way they treated me. They never responded back to me. This makes me wonder if they are a legitimate company. No one deserves to be treated like this. My opinion of Pine Cone Research is very poor. I always followed their rules and was never disrespectful to them. They are very rude and uncaring towards the participants. I feel they look at the participants as just another number.

Not able to complete not 1 survey since September 15th, wow 3 months when I was getting them every week. I get just can't get pass putting in female, survey just sits on that page for 5 minutes then disqualifies me. Getting 3 surveys a week which is extremely high but it won't let me complete. Was told they are profile questions to see if I qualify but not past " female" how is it all of a sudden being a female doesn't qualify me. See a lot of same issues on bbb. Been a member for about 6 years now but I guess they want fresh

I was a longtime member of Pinecone in 2002-2006 and sporadically since then off and on....and I cherished it. I reaped the rewards. But yet another example of a Survey/Rewards site that's lost their way. They are SUPER exclusive these days and that excludes me...and you. Open up your membership like the good old days and reap the benefits of my Valued opinions and deep, thoughtful Insights.

Don't make us rely on Banner Ads and Online searches to find sign up links. I spoke to Miss Karen Scott personally by email in the early days of Pinecone Research on a semi-frequent basis. They were located in Kentucky and so was and currently am I. She replied just as frequently and was ever so helpful to me in the days of $5 mailed paper checks.

Those days are dead and gone.

Pine cone was my absolute favorite Survey Site in those days but currently in 2021 it just seems like my Household Composition and Race are the deciding factors in Exclusion. Or is it that I was a past member??

I guess I'll never know the answer to that question.

Today I got a credit notification for a survey I completed yesterday. I went to their site to redeem and got an "unable to process your request" notification when I tried to log on. So I went to their Contact page to report the problem, and was told to log on in order to submit the complaint. Next I emailed "Scott" @ Pinecone, and got a notice that the email address was unmonitored and if I wanted to contact them I should log on to their site and use the Contact page! Catch-22. So basically they took $3 from me that I earned and is rightfully mine.

Update: I see that "Karen Scott" has replied to several of the one-star reviews and apologized. "She" then told the reviewers to provide the information at the Pinecone Research Contact page -- DESPITE the fact that they explicitly complained in their view about being blocked from logging on. Not only do they make it impossible to contact them, but they "respond" to reviews without even bothering to read them carefully.

We need a working, monitored email -- NOT your stupid "Contact page."
