YouGov, Branded Surveys

In February, 2022, Populuslive rebranded itself as Y Live.

Y Live, part of Populus Limited, based in the UK, is a popular market research company. The panel was established in 2003 with a presence that has grown to 75 countries worldwide. The panel does research in the business, culture and politics sectors. Joining the community is simple - start by filling out a short and simple registration form.

Payment and Rewards

Earn £1.00 for Every 5 Minutes

Y Live gives its members the opportunity to earn £1.00 for every 5 minutes they spend on a survey. Depending on the length, most surveys pay between 1 to 3 points each (1 point = £1.00) and take usually about 5 to 15 minutes to finish. Please note that rewards will only be credited to your account once the survey is closed. This could range from one day to three months, depending on the research and nature of the study.

Cash in at £50.00

Once you have accumulated 50 points (£50.00) you are eligible to request a cheque or a BACS payment at the next payment date. The payment date is at the end of each month and if you requested a cheque, it will arrive within two weeks after this date. BACS payments typically take a few days to arrive. On average, Y Live issues 3000 monthly cheques to members who have reached the threshold for payment.

The draw will take place on the second Monday of each calendar month and winners are notified within 4 weeks of the draw taking place.

Excellent site.

December 16, 2018 by Charlotte from United Kingdom

I started using Populus almost four years ago, and have received regular cheques since. If you keep up with all of the surveys they send to you, then it'll take you 2-3 months to reach the £50 cash out each time - but it's worth it, because the time spent vs. cash payout is actually very good. They pay you only by cheque and it's automated, you don't need to do anything to cash out; as soon as you reach the threshold, a cheque is sent out to you with their next batch. Simple!

I've also been invited to further studies as a result of this site, even getting paid £100 to be interviewed at home for an hour about my views on public transport in my area! All in all, highly recommended.

Love it

So far I have received 2 payouts with no problem. I may not qualify for all surveys but I do the majority of them. This is one of my favourite sites.

Going downhill all the time

April 16, 2018 by Huda from United Kingdom

Cashed out with them about three times now without any problems, so they are great for delivering the rewards. However, recently their surveys have been a glitchy and repetitive mess - questions as well as entire surveys repeat themselves and sometimes even when 80-90% through a survey, it decides to screen you out or bring up a message to say it's 'full'.

Also, emailing them is as good as useless - they won't even do people the courtesy of using their names, referring to them instead as 'panel member'. The responses are generic and utterly unhelpful.

Hopefully Populus take all this feedback on board for future or I certainly won't bother wasting my precious time on surveys that may or may not glitch on me at the 99% progress mark.

One of the best

Survey invitations don't arrive too often, but when they do they are usually topical. You rarely get thrown out. They pay well £1 or £2 pounds for up to about 15 minutes. The surveys are well written, easy to complete and presented in a pleasant style. They send you a cheque promptly and automatically when you reach the £50 threshold. I would recommend.

Gone downhill fast

February 14, 2018 by Robert from United Kingdom

Edited review. I previously gave these 5 stars but after receiving no survey's when friends were still receiving them I emailed to find out why. I received no response. I emailed a further two times and still no response. Completely unacceptable.
