Good, reliable panel. I often read survey results from YouGov in papers on serious political issues. I just wish they sent me more of these surveys and not trivial and repetitive ones about shopping etc.
Reward is usually 50p per survey. Sometimes 25p, which is too mean for the time and effort required.
Frequency of invitations depend upon your demographic status (my son is 27. He gets a survey almost every day. I am 63 and get maybe one survey every 3 or 4 weeks). They pay promptly when you reach £50.

Very interesting surveys very well written, only problem is they do not send them very often and you can not get paid until you have earned £50.

I've been a YouGov panelist for a long time, approx 12 years, at first in the UK and now in the States where I live.
For those in the UK I've found that I've earned around £50 a year. You can only wait for that £50 bank transfer on the UK panel, or use points for entries into their monthly competitions. There are about 550 prizes in total (a mixture of a few big cash prizes and many smaller points prizes) however in 12 years being a panelist, I've never won anything on the sweepstakes - be it points or cash! So I think the likelihood of winning in their competitions is extremely low.
After three months living in the US, I've found a few major differences. First of all, the points value is not easy to understand. 1 point is about 6cents. Which doesn't make a lot of sense. However, they have more options on how to redeem points. The smallest redemption on offer is for 25,000 points ($15 gift card for Amazon) there are a number of other stores as well as a couple of restaurants and cinemas to chose from as well. However, there is no simple 'cash' option, instead only a Visa gift card which comes in $50 & $100 options.
Furthermore, the $50 Visa card, will set you back 7.5-12.5k points more than some other $50 gift cards on offer. In other words, their points system makes no sense at all. With some gift cards costing you less points than others.
Another example is that the $100 Visa gift card costs 100k points, the amazon voucher for $100 is the same value of points. However, a $50 amazon voucher is 55k points (where logic would say it would be 50k!).... The $15 amazon voucher is 25k points .... You do the math, it makes sense to save points up... but the best options are some of the other stores!
Overall, I don't think I would recommend YouGov to those in the USA....It seems it will take a long time to save points up to redeem for a decent reward. Plus, you cannot get cash/paypal... instead just a $100 gift card which I would suggest is the best on offer. Getting to that magic 100k points may take a long time though!
However if you're in the UK it makes a lot more sense to join!
