Reward redemptions are for gift cards but vary from country to country. In the USA, the minimum is 35,000, which equates to a $15 gift card. The first survey available to you after registering is worth 2,000 points, which will help you on your way to obtaining your first reward.

Points Value 30,000 points = $25.00, therefore 100 points = approximately $0.08. Points increase in value if saved for bigger rewards, as 100,000 points = $100.

Survey Taking Experience

Survey Lengths

The length of each online survey varies, but most are between 5-15 minutes long. Surveys are rarely longer than 20 minutes, as this is considered a maximum. YouGov offers paid surveys quite frequently compared to other similar sites. You will receive an email every time a new survey is available. It can be different from country to country, but on average you can expect 5-7 surveys a week.

A big plus for YouGov is that they almost never send you a link to a survey that you then do not qualify for. If you are screened out, you are likely to be matched with another survey.

Survey Topics

As with any paid survey site, YouGov's survey topics can vary, however most of the time, they frequently about politics, as YouGov's surveys and political polling results are frequently published in the media. Surveys may also be about consumption habits, your social attitudes, what you think of things happening in the news, and so on.

See the Opinions of Others

YouGov offers the chance for you to see what your answers in surveys are used for. About once a month, they send out a newsletter, where they link to some of the national and international stories where their survey results have been featured. You can also find this information on their website if you choose not to receive their newsletters. This gives you the ability to find out where your opinions stand in relation to the greater YouGov surveys community!

Low Paid Surveys and Payment Threshold Too High

May 29, 2015 by Jill from United Kingdom

I have been involved with many paid survey sites over the last 6 or 7 years, including You Gov. Sadly I have noticed that the vast majority of these sites are now paying less and less for the rewards on offer, and You Gov is no exception. Whereas a couple of years ago most decent sites paid the equivalent of the minimum wage and above, now you are looking at average earnings of £3.00 per hour if you're lucky. I have also noticed that there seems to be an increasing number of unpaid polls and prize draw surveys, which You Gov are no doubt making money out of even though we are not. And if you are taking part in a cash paying survey you have to be very careful not to click on the wrong button at the end otherwise you end up sacrificing your hard earned cash for prize draw entries which is rather sneaky. Whilst they are a legitimate site, the £50 threshold is way too high and I would imagine many people give up well before they reach this figure, lining YouGov's bank account in the process. At the moment my balance stands at £23, which on principle I don't see why I should give back to them when it is my money not theirs. So I shall wait until I've reached the £50 threshold (probably in about a year's time!) then I am quitting. If you are looking on survey sites like YouGov as a hobby or a way of killing some time then they are worth joining, but if it's extra cash you are looking for then they are a waste of time.

The most reliable survey company out there.

I became disabled 3 years. I started doing surveys. There was many that I tried. There was only a few I stuck with. You Gov was the best. Once you start a survey, you complete the survey. There is no redirection. They are the best!

The name says it

Unless you are very interested in political issues, you will not find it a fun thing to do surveys here. The surveys can be very long sometimes and the pay is not great a all. You get about 500 points per survey and you need to do a lot of surveys if you want a good reward.

Not sure...

May 27, 2015 by Lois from United Kingdom

Okay so I've been with YouGov for 2 years now and have probably filled out a survey every couple of weeks. I've been sent plenty more than this but only complete them if I think the time is worth the 50 points that you're rewarded. Lately, there have been a lot more surveys sent to me with a reward of sweepstakes which I have little interest in. What was once a site where I had a pick of surveys to complete, seems now to be a site where I'm excited by a single survey that actually award me with points.
I am currently on just over 3000 points so will keep going until I reach the £50, but will probably stop after that.
So one star is taken away because of the high reward threshold, and one star is taken away for the fact that YouGov seem to think their panelists all want to gamble their time away.

I just started with them. I love their layout. It seems pretty promising. You cash out at $25. So far, so good.
