The Center for Decision Sciences (CDS) was founded at Columbia Business School in 1999 and serves as a resource to encourage discussion between researchers in multiple disciplines and levels at the school. The Center facilitates research and understanding on consumer behavior in relation to decision making, public policy and the neurological underpinnings of decision making.

Some of the recent studies performed at CDS include: interactive decision-making tasks, short cognitive tests, solving brain teasers, as well as answering questions about taking risks, the value of an improved environment and general questions about politics.

Great rewards

You can expect to be paid about $16/hour for your participation if you qualify for a study. Payment amounts along with estimated completion length are listed prior to starting a survey, also bonus payments may be awarded depending on the study.

Qualification process

No pre-qualification questions are asked and no disqualification exists at CDS, although they may be looking for specific types of participants for various studies. Confidentiality is guaranteed and your information will never be sold to any third party. Participants must be fluent in speaking English, 18 years of age and residents of the United States.

Have been on this for 3-4 months and have had maybe 4-5 surveys of which I qualified for just one. It was a three part survey over three days that required me to login and answer questions for about 45 minutes each day. They were super interesting survey/quizzes that really had my mind engaged. I loved it... the 45 minutes passed quickly and within a week or so, I had a $30.50 PayPal deposit. Worth being part of this; I have some panels that don't get me $30 in a year.

I have been with them for a few months and received one paid study. There was a glitch while I was taking the study so I had to contact them to take care of it, they responded promptly and courteously and fixed the issue right away. The study was very interesting and I was paid $8.00 for 30 minutes of my time, a very fair payment. I received the check promptly. I've only received one so far but you might as well be on their list, it's no sweat to sign up with them!

I have been with Columbia for 3 months and I have recieved 2 different surveys. The first one was 10 minutes for $8.00 dollars and paid me withing one week paypal. The second one was a interactive survey with 3 parts, this pay was $25.00 dollars.
