Smart App is a smartphone app that allows you to answer questions about your tech habits - and you will be paid well for your time.

With Smart Panel App, you can help your favorite web sites, apps, tech companies, and mobile carriers give you better services and more features. Download the Smart App and anonymously share your data. All data collected is encrypted, secured, and protected – Smart App is owned and operated by Verto Analytics Research firm.

How Smart App Works

With Smart App, you’ll need to apply to become a member. To apply you’ll answer a short survey about your personal details and your tech habits, including how often you use your smartphone.

If accepted, you’ll download the Smart App on your smartphone and keep it there. The app will usually give you surveys to answer. You’ll earn points by answering these questions about your technology habits.

The app will track your smartphone usage and share your habits from using this smartphone device. It reportedly uses around 3MB of data per month and causes an extra 1-5% reduction of battery life. You may have to download a VPN onto your device too.

After you have kept the app on your phone for 30 days, you can convert the points earned into rewards for the first time.

Smart Panel rewards access

I was a member of this panel for a few years and loved it. Now, I am a former member and not happy. I finally uninstalled the app on all my devices. My rewards amount is $45.00 and even though I couldn't access my rewards, they kept adding up. I sent emails and got no satisfaction. I even tried on Facebook to get help. Sometimes they would respond and other times they didn't. Other panelists have the same problem. So I know it wasn't just me. If something is done to remedy the problem I will change my rating. Until, then, I will give it a half star.

I cannot recommend.

The relationship started off well and went well for a few months. However, the last 3 months it has gone drastically downhill - fast! Last month, I received the usual email saying I had earned $5 for February, but going online, it stated that since my device/app was inactive, I could not collect. After a great deal of effort in dealing with an apparently ineffective or apathetic "support" staff, I was able to redeem that $5. Then, I received an email saying I had earned another $5 for the month of March. Same thing - I go online and it said since I had been inactive, I couldn't redeem that $5. I sent them screenshots proving I was active. No response from "support". I wrote them again, with proof. I received (eventually) the same apparently canned response that I had been inactive. I wrote again. By this time, apparently deciding they just wanted to get rid of me, they said they were cancelling my membership because I had two accounts with them. I wrote back, that I couldn't have 2 accounts as they wouldn't both be running on the same device, my PC, the only device I had the app installed on. They do have two addresses on file for me, for some reason, but there has been only one active account. This site is not good. It may work alright at first, but I bet it will degrade quickly after that. My advice is to stay away for your peace of mind.

inflexible with new email addresses

I liked this panel a lot until my email provider said it was closing and the email I used to register with Smart Panel UK would expire on the 31st May. When I asked if I could create a new account with my new email address AFTER my current email address has expired, they said NO and that I would cease to be a panellist with them!

I think it's grossly unfair that they would not let me continue to be a panellist because this change of email address was not my choice. I did tell them that Orange webmail (my current email provider) is stopping its email service as of 31st May and would therefore leave me without an email address unless I set up a new one. For this reason I feel I am being penalised for something that is not my fault! I'm sure there are other panellists that are in the same situation and they will lose a lot of them this way. So this is the reason I'm giving this panel a negative review.

I first installed it on my phone, I loved seeing the rewards, event ho they would skip months. The app doesn't do anything to my phone other than take up space. I then got a new laptop and figured I would get an extra 5 from it, big mistake. I installed the app and everytime I turned on the laptop the app itself would send the reports. As soon as the laptop would go to sleep I would receive an email saying that my apps are not active and that is why I am not receiving rewards. I took screenshoots of both devices being active and emailed it to them, no response but only to say my device isn't active as soon as the laptop went back to sleep. I just sent them and email to remove the laptop from my profile. We'll see how it goes.

So I've decided to make an account after I read all of the horrible reviews on this website and I can actually say that this website works! I signed up a couple of months ago but completely forgot about it until today and I was surprised to see that I've earned $25 dollars. 25 FREAKIN DOLLARS! Just for having an app on my laptop and phone for 4 months! I would've had more money but unfortunately I deleted the app after 4 months (I started 6 months ago btw) and would've earned an extra $15 for the 2 months and 6 month reward. I remember messaging them about a device that was on my account that I needed to be removed around the time I started and it took them FOREVER to respond. Today, when I logged in and tried to receive the $25 it didn't allow me to since I wasn't active on 2 devices that I ended up losing, and that kinda annoyed me because I thought I would have to wait for days for them to respond, but guess what? They responded in less than 10 minutes! So then I clicked the check out button and clicked PayPal but remembered a review that said it takes them forever to send the code and money, but that wasn't the case for me! I got the code immediately after and after I entered it, I got an email from PayPal saying that VertoSmart sent me money! I literally got so happy! But that isn't the best part; a few minutes ago I got an email saying that today was another month online so I got an extra $5 a few hours after I redeemed my $25! What a coincidence! All in all, this website is VERY trustworthy and gives you your rewards fast and easy, unlike other sites. I hope my review influenced your decision on joining this website, since it's such a great one. Oh, and I almost forgot. Many users complain about their phones slowing down after installing the necessarily VPN and I noticed too, but I found a bypass (shhhh, don't tell anyone!). On your iPhone, go to Settings>General>VPN and click on the i in a circle next to VPN Access and turn off Connect On Demand. It took me a while to find this since turning off Status simply didn't work (it kept turning back on), so I toyed around with the settings and now it works! Just remember to go into the SmartApp app and click on the Sync data button at least once a day (this is crucial so you still are "active" on your device) and I just asked Siri to remind me everyday at 7:30 PM. But yeah that's pretty much it, hope you enjoyed this review/storytime lol
