Survey Details

The time it takes to complete an online survey will vary, however most surveys offered by SurveySpot take between 10-15 minutes to complete. Most surveys are rewarded within the range of 50 to 100 points, depending on their length and complexity.

So I was a member of survey spot a long time ago, I looked again this year and it looked like the exact same interface as Opinion Outpost which I find to be the most quick cash when I need it Survey site, so I joined come to find out it isn't anything like it. Hasn't changed a bit, I still get spammed with emails and for no rewards at all!

It seems like a good enough time to update my review, especially because I must do so in apology. With the exception of this site, I continue to stand by my thoughts on every other site I reviewed. But first, some context.

I'm not exactly new to the survey scene, but I had been on hiatus for a good 5 years before picking back up again this year in early August. I remembered Surveyspot being one of my favorite sites back then. My, how times have changed...

I had also been a member of Opinion Outpost back then (way before both sites had identical site layouts), and it was equally lucrative. For some reason though, my account had been put in bad standing and I was unable to do surveys with them simply because they wouldn't send me anymore.

Fast forward to 2012. I must've joined again sometime then, because when I went to join them this year I kept thinking I was frozen out of my account. The reality was, I had joined them under their new format. Fast forward to September of the present.

OO and SS are nearly identical, except for two things. 1) OO pays about 3-5 times more than SS for the exact same surveys. 2) OO has minigames for extra points between all the surveys you're not going to qualify for. Sure, WINNING them is almost as unlikely as winning their quarterly sweepstakes, but at least they're there.

That said, you will dq on the exact same mind-numbingly tedious and boring surveys, deal with the exact same circular correspondence with their support team, not get properly credited for completing the exact same surveys that lie about their projected timeframe for completion, and you will receive your rewards in the exact same time period. My point is this: why put yourself through this for 3-5 times less reward? At least with OO the incentives usually justify the hassle.

SS does manage to get 1 star all the same, because I can think of at least 1 site MUCH worse, and because they pay in a timely manner (once you actually have enough to redeem).

I've been doing surveys for about a year now and SurveySpot has been officially dropped off my list of acceptable survey sites. They're a mirror image of Opinion Outpost - who I like - but they pay much less for the (nearly) same surveys, and require more points to cashout. After months of trying with them, I finally just cashed out for a $6 Amazon GC, and won't be doing any more surveys with them.

I didn't qualify for many of the surveys that Survey Spot offered, but often I would get kicked out of a survey after completing over half of it, saying that they had enough responses. I sent a complaint to their Help Desk asking about this. They unsubscribed my account with no explanation. Don't waste your time with Survey Spot. They don't sound like an ethical survey company.

I've lost 5-6 hours of my life and probably 300-400 points getting all the way through surveys and, after 1/2 hour of taking each of them, I get a message saying something to the effect of "we're sorry, we cannot accept your survey because blah blah blah." It's really, really annoying and it happens WAYYYYYYY too often. It just happened to me, again, in fact, which is why I signed up for this site to leave this review. I'm kind of sick of it.
