Visit Toluna's website ›Survey Taking Experience
Start taking surveys
The Surveys tab in your account will display a list of online surveys ready for you to fill out. You can choose to view surveys by Priority Surveys (which are recommended for you), Quick Surveys (short surveys), or by Premium Surveys (surveys that award more points than usual).
Every survey will display the estimated length of time it will take to complete, the topic of the survey, as well as how many points you will receive for completing it. Some surveys may offer a unique experience such as being a video survey or a diary style survey.
Points Earned Per Survey
The number of points you will earn per survey completion will vary and is based on things like the length and complexity of the survey. However, successful online survey completions typically award anywhere from 15 - 50,000 points each, and special surveys could offer even more.
Points Expiry
When points are credited to your account, they remain valid for 16 months. If after this period your points have not been used, they will automatically expire and be deleted from your account. Your points will not expire all at once; instead, points will expire 16 months after you originally earned them, so be sure to regularly redeem your points for rewards.

Early May their $10 Amazon cards were out of stock. So I waited to have enough points for the $25 gift card and got it June 19. Afterwards that was also out of stock. The $10 was taken off the list by then. Now all Walmart and Amazon gift cards plus 8 other gift cards are out of stock.
I contacted their customer service. First I got a reply from a bot that didn't address the issue at all. Wen I replied that there doesn't seem to be a real customer service, I got a reply from a human that stated: "The gift cards will be replenished as soon as our Incentive Team receive them from our supplier. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you the exact date of their return, as it depends on other parties involved."
Now, although I usually don't want other types of gift cards, after I have enough points for a $10 gift card, I'm going to quit Toluna, because they might stop having any gift cards soon. Their Paypal options require more points than for gift cards, and that option might stop anytime, too. Toluna might close down and points would be wasted.

I recently got kicked off and with the same canned excuse as others have received here. I noticed recently their website isn't kept up like it used to and shuts down on the weekends. Their spin the wheel game always lands on you didn't win try tomorrow. A joke. I sense this survey site is circling the drain and will be gone before the year's end.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, Penny! I'm truly sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with our services :( and we would love to have the opportunity to change that.We are sorry you haven't won as many prizes as you would like to in our Spin The Wheel game, but as in any lottery the more you play, the more chances of winning you have! A proof of this is the many winners we have every month. We have many influencers who play very often, so those who play more than you do have more chances of winning.
If you have any specific enquiries about your account, please remember that we remain available via https://www.toluna.com/contact-us for any questions or concerns you might have.
All the best,
Katy

UPDATED 18th JUNE - so Toluna (Katy) appears to have deleted her previous reply to my review. Perhaps it was felt they were incriminating themselves for not removing my data when I asked them to. Elsewhere, more and more people are leaving negative reviews for the same circumstances as I encountered.
UPDATED 2nd JUNE - as requested multiple times, Katy, supply the evidence. You advise me it is stored on your database - I asked for all data to be erased after I realised what kind of company Toluna is. Serena advised you can’t comply as you no longer hold any data. Read the messages and get your stories straight. It appears to be your fraud detection system that is flawed. I don’t need the £20 reward, I’m speaking out for all the other genuine people you have unjustly accused of fraud.
The pattern of my journey with Toluna seems to replicate that of many others.
I joined a few weeks ago, earned enough points for my first £20 Amazon voucher, Toluna declined to send me the reward with no explanation whatsoever, and blocked me from accessing my account.
There has been no communication from them re the blocking of my account, and no reply to queries sent via their contact form, they just keep sending me the same email declining my reward repeatedly - currently standing at 8 times.
The email states that the points will be applied back to my account. What is the point of that when I can’t access my account?
What they mean is “ha ha, we conned you. We’ve wasted hours of your time giving thoughtful, genuine responses to our surveys, and we’re not going to pay you a penny, we’re keeping all of our clients’ money for ourselves, hahahahaha”.
Appalling way to treat people. You’ve far from heard the last of me, Toluna!

I have been a member of Toluna for about five weeks (I joined in late March 2023) and had earned enough points to cash out for $20 (yay me!). Then at almost the exact moment I attempted to *redeem* those points for a Paypal gift card, my account suddenly locked me out---almost as if it was a bot, because the timing was literally *instant:* I clicked 'Redeem Points,' then seconds later I'm booted out of my account. I immediately tried logging back in, then received a message instructing me that I needed to reset my password.
(That should have been the first red flag.)
Puzzled, I went to my email and then to Paypal, but no reward was in either place, nor did I receive the email that confirmed that my reward was even on the way. Okay, no big deal, it just takes a few days, I thought, but it was just so odd because the boot happened like within a few seconds of me trying to cash out points.
Ever since then, I have been attempting to access my Toluna account repeatedly without success——I also wanted to find out where my reward was.
Despite numerous attempts to reset my password, I did not receive any emails to reset it and no emails about where my $20 was, either.
A few days later, I finally received a response from them, and was shocked to learn that they have permanently suspended my account because I somehow 'violated' numerous terms on their site and so my account was, not just suspended, but all my points (including the $20 in points I'd just attempted to cash in) were revoked.
I asked them for proof of these violations and basically got a second email that was a copy of the first one, "...you violated our terms, our clients said your survey responses were low-quality, we take these claims very seriously," blah blah blah.
What does that even mean? I could almost see this happening if I had been in the middle of a survey, but I was only attempting to redeem a reward and that's when I got booted from my account, and lost the $20 and all remaining points.
My mother is in hospice and as her only surviving child, I have been committed to her bedside for the past several weeks. I was grateful to be doing surveys as they've helped keep my mind from wandering off the deep end of grief. To accuse me of "inconsistent answers, untruthful answers, answers that are different from your profile" etc. is just plain ridiculous.
Here I'm caring for a dying woman and a bot thinks it's appropriate to lob me a tremendous insult, as well as a blatant, ".. ha ha, you can't do a thing about it" theft.
Insult to injury, they not only revoked my remaining points, they also revoked my hefty $20 paycheck (being sarcastic here :) ), and were okay doing this without a single correspondence or explanation prior to, or even after the fact.
The theft without explanation is the lowest and icky-est corporate behavior I've ever seen.
And they implied that I'm the one without integrity.
If I hadn't continued to press them for a response, I'd never know what happened.
So after receiving their scathing email telling me I was a fraud, I then asked for factual proof of these 'numerous violations' and I was merely told that they had " ... numerous quality checks in place and your account was flagged for suspicious behavior."
I then responded again asking for further proof of these 'behaviors', and added, "Within your surveys, you state that you have numerous quality checks in place, and yet, not once during the previous five weeks has Toluna disqualified me from a survey. And every time I take a survey, Toluna say that all answers are confidential and are all in aggregate only——so exactly how are you able to back your claim that my answers were 'poor quality?'
And if what you allege is true, are you saying that every single survey for which I'd earned points for, is fraud? And if it was fraud, why were you okay with letting my account accumulate points for five weeks? You only shut it down while I was attempting to cash those points out."
Again another pathetic email blaming me, basically saying I was dishonest on numerous occasions so they revoked all my points.
It was their clever way of saying that I was a fraud, a liar and a cheat without actually saying I was a fraud, a liar and cheat, and they closed their email with a, "...and we stand by our original judgement."
Insult to injury, of course, and I know this is just their way of probably saving themselves 10's of thousands of dollars per day by 'dumping' panelists without paying them, all based on flimsy accusations.
And it's not just the fact that they 'revoked' (ie: stole) points/cash I'd 'earned' but the fact that they were okay with pulling this stunt without even so much as a warning or explanation email.
Seems to me that if Toluna-Steals-The-Tuna had any legitimate 'claim' of fraud against me (for any reason) they certainly would have sent some sort of heads-up email. Like: "We have received numerous complaints ... your answers are low-quality, your points are being revoked ... " but instead, they just dumped the entire kit&kaboodle with zero explanation. And it was only after me sending several days of requests for 'password resets' and a contact request that they finally even acknowledged or addressed the situation.
Instead of being forthcoming, they were perfectly fine with this type of treatment, along with a, "...you can't do anything about it anyway" response.
I only left this review because this same scenario will certainly happen to numerous others——other people who are kind, honest, thoughtful, and have earned meager 'awards' that will be revoked at a moment's notice without evidence.
And if you are one of these persons who've been swindled by a survey company, just know that it isn't your fault. It's kind of a bitter slap in the face (I mean we earn something like .40 cents an hour taking surveys, highway robbery, right?) and to have a company do something like this is NOT a reflection on you, it's on an entirely different level of deceit, and they're content practicing this without remorse.
There was no way that they 'reviewed' and 'flagged' my account in any way because the revoked points, the revoked 'reward,' and the suspension happened literally within seconds of each other. As I stated earlier, it was almost as if it were a bot, because they didn't have any time to 'review' anything.
So try not to take it personally. Or as my mother would have said, "Just know that's it's them, and not you."
I leave this review in honor of my mother, and hope that she'd be proud of the way I'm handling this———she is the reason I learned to master my emotions and not let others steal my peace and tranquility, regardless of circumstance.

Hello Aimee,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed and honest review. I deeply regret hearing about these disheartening occurrences and I'd like to thank you for the comprehensive feedback and suggestions. Your input is paramount in our ongoing strategy to constantly improve the user experience of our global community.
For some common types of issues, our system will send automatic replies in order to provide an instant solution to our members and make our helpdesk as efficient as possible. If you submitted a support case using 'Login problems' or 'My Account / Login Details' as the type of issue, you received an automatic first reply containing general instructions on how the common login issues can be resolved. We understand these automatic responses might not apply to everyone, so simply replying to the automated notification as advised/or reopening the ticket, instead of submitting a new ticket, will ensure a support representative will look into your request as soon as possible.
Our customers demand a high quality of data we gather on their behalf, and, for this reason, besides the demographic quotas, there are also multiple quality checks set in place throughout questionnaires, to help us identify and eliminate invalid answers. These filters allow us to reward only those members who have passed all checks, as otherwise the responses are not considered valid and, consequently, are not used in the research. Toluna itself is not paid by the client for answers that do not meet the quality standards.
In addition to the in-survey quality checks, our clients can also flag certain responses from a survey during their own data analysis, which takes place after the survey is closed and before the final validated participants are confirmed on our side. As such, we can make the proper participation status adjustments in our system for the respondents brought to our attention during these checks.
When the number of quality flags in an account reaches a certain point, the account will be suspended by our Data Quality team as we cannot continue to send our clients information that does not help with their researches.
I would like to reassure you that the exact moment of an account's suspension is not conditioned by any action on the users' end. We understand that, in your particular case the timing was unbefitting and while we regret the inconvenience caused, we can assure you it was a mere coincidence.
I'd be delighted to take a closer look at your particular situation in order to provide some specific advice & clarity. Sadly, I was unable to identify your account based on the details you share with us her, so could you kindly email me at [email protected] using 'Survey Police review follow-up'?
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Serena

I don't waste any more time on toluna, since I created my account and started working. I did 3 surveys and they took me out of the account and I tried to enter again and they suspended me. I don't understand why they took my account. What answer do they give me?
Toluna Influencers responded to this review on March 28, 2023
Thank you for sharing your review, Marcel! I am deeply sorry to hear about your disheartening experience. There are different various quality & security checks constantly running on our panel that can result in a suspended membership. I'd like to clarify that the sole reason behind the termination of a Toluna account is non-compliance with the T&C agreed to upon registration and continuous use of the account.
I'm afraid it is not possible for us to provide further assistance without identifying & thoroughly analyzing your account & Toluna activity. I'd be delighted to take a closer look at your case, could you please submit a support case at https://www.toluna.com/en_US/contact-us 'SurveyPolice review' as subject?
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Katy
