With Smart Panel App, you can help your favorite web sites, apps, tech companies, and mobile carriers give you better services and more features. Download the Smart App and anonymously share your data. All data collected is encrypted, secured, and protected – Smart App is owned and operated by Verto Analytics Research firm.

How Smart App Works

With Smart App, you’ll need to apply to become a member. To apply you’ll answer a short survey about your personal details and your tech habits, including how often you use your smartphone.

If accepted, you’ll download the Smart App on your smartphone and keep it there. The app will usually give you surveys to answer. You’ll earn points by answering these questions about your technology habits.

The app will track your smartphone usage and share your habits from using this smartphone device. It reportedly uses around 3MB of data per month and causes an extra 1-5% reduction of battery life. You may have to download a VPN onto your device too.

After you have kept the app on your phone for 30 days, you can convert the points earned into rewards for the first time.

Pretty awful

Very hard to get a response from them, they've gotten worse, it's almost impossible to cash out anymore because they won't send you a verification code when you want to cash out. Disappointing. They used to be good and easy, but like a lot of things as time passes they make it more and more difficult to work with.

Yes you do get paid, which I took advantage of for the $5 monthly to my PayPal. The problem with this site is that if you tell them you have 6 devices in the house, then all of them have to have the software to earn. You're better off saying you only have a cellphone or some old computer that is connected to the internet. The software itself slows your computer down, but what is worse is that it requires a proxy connection to work, which will cause problems with your internet connection. If you know what you're doing with computers, it's a hassle, and if you don't, you're screwed. Also my wife's account was "disqualified" because you're not supposed to have more than one account per household. Avoid this company, their are better ways to make money.

Paid, but at what cost?

I have the Smart Panel app installed on my HP PC and my iPod Touch 5.

Pro: You get money just for having an extra app installed on your computer or mobile device! You just go about your regular, daily business, and the app tracks your activity, and you get money. As someone once said, "All these websites are already tracking your activity anyway, might as well get paid for it."

Cons: Ever since I installed the app, my internet keeps cutting out. Periodically, and completely at random, my internet settings will change to a proxy, which makes the internet completely not work. It's easy enough to fix, but really annoying that it CONSTANTLY happens. And I've spent the last month and a half making myself crazy doing virus scans and trying everything in the book to try to fix whatever was making my computer keep changing to proxy settings, until I finally put 2 and 2 together - that the issue started right when I installed the Smart App!

In addition, occasionally the Smart App window on my computer will open up, which instantly closes my Firefox browser with no warning. Extremely irritating when I'm trying to actually do work or watch a video in the browser! There's also been a number of times when the app window has made everything on my computer non-functional, and at least once put my computer into a critical error that caused it to shut down without my input.

The App on my iPod is less fussy, however I notice there's a number of websites I can no longer visit, and the iTunes Store will not open from my iPod. The App Store still does, but not the iTunes Store. And there's NO WAY to turn off the Smart App's VPN temporarily. It sucks that you can't request like a 10 minute pause or anything. Of course, what sucks more is that this app screws with your internet and device functions so much.

If you have a device you don't use often, I'd say give the program a try. Getting paid $5 a month just to leave something installed, especially on a device you never use, is pretty sweet. But I'd avoid installing it on something you use more actively.

Do not waste your time!

On joining, you get emails giving you instructions on how to install the app on your devices and confirmation that it is correctly installed. So far, so good.
On emailing them, they kept saying that there was no user registered at my email address (apart from one occasion when I was told there had been a 'blip on the system' the previous day and that they had found the account. Yet they continually send emails to this address - the last one being a request to say how wonderful they are with a view to publishing on their website!
Needless to say, they have never paid me a penny and I have now removed the app from all devices.
Also, I was continually getting a 'shockwave crash' message on my desktop - since removing the Smart App, this has not happened.
If I was allowed to give zero stars, I would!
